We Are Opening the Show for Submissions

August 25, 2008 in News by Joey Marchy

Due to the number of inquires, we are opening the show for submissions and depending the number of spaces we have left and the date we receive the posters we will determine what makes it into the show.

We are pushing the deadline to September 23rd to give you more time to produce it and us plenty of time to hang them.

The theme of this show is anything goes, anything political. Candidates, Issues, world peace, freedom of speech, global warning… poverty etc.

The overall theme of “Partisan” is to let people know your opinion or view, what ever that may be. Your poster can just be an image or just type or a tricycle with a flag on it for that matter if it means something to you. Just as long as your sharing your opinion. We were just really tired of political shows that were afraid of the issues and just encourage voting and not what to vote for.

Criteria
If you have already created a poster(s) that you feel will fit the subject matter of our show, feel free to submit them. We are not requiring that you create new work although it is encouraged. Your poster also does not need to show any affiliation with our show whatsoever as you may want to submit it elsewhere or sell it on your own.

Poster Specifications
We know that posters can come in many shapes, sizes, colors, and executions. So with that being said, as long as it comes either screen printed, offset, digital, giclee, hand drawn, stenciled, water color, collage, or painted as a poster on paper that can be rolled up and shipped in a tube to be hung in the show, then that will work just fine. If you have question about an execution or a type of material not mentioned above, please free to email us anytime at info@partisanthesea.com.

The Half and Half

We’ve added a bunch of artists to the list of people participating in the Partisan the Sea show. Including El Jefe Design and The Half and Half who was featured in the Gigposters of the Week on Urban Art Warfare. I’ll add artists to the end of the list as they let us know they will be participating.

Also in Partisan related news this week we’ve added a huge list AIGA related events going on Friday night at the show opening including:

  • Ballot Design: Good vs. Bad ballot design, along with a Top 10 of good ballot design.
  • Posters printed by AIGA National from the 2008 Get Out the Vote Initiative.

Whole new batch of pics are posted over on the Halftone Def Studios flick photo sets. They are photos of pretty much the whole process from start to finish with the exception of the films and the sketches (which are coming). You can see the ink mixing, screens, us printing them color by color, detail shots, The Rad 2 color stamps, us packing them up in tubes, and Kendrick in the bushes with crazy hands. Check em out! - HTD
